Marissa Boswell is a fragrance developer living and working in Los Angeles. She began experimenting with scent in 2017 before founding the home fragrance brand MAR MAR Los Angeles. Throughout her time at MAR MAR, she developed a collection of seven fragrances and sixteen SKUS, selling to 100+ retailers including Nordstrom, Merci Paris, and SSENSE.

Following MAR MAR’s sale in 2024, Marissa has continued her work in fragrance, developing signature scents for a select number of commercial clients.

Pierce & Ward is a favorite interior design firm based in Los Angeles, with clients that include Dakota Johnson, Josh Brolin, and Emma Roberts. The homes they create for their clients are layered, rich, and warm. Based on their work, we created a tender and inviting candle they could gift to clients and sell in their incredible atelier / shop in Los Feliz. The custom colored taupe wax perfectly suits the custom vessels as well as hard-sided boxes in P&W’s favorite “Southfield Green” shade. The candle’s name “Cry To Me” is taken from the Solomon Burke song, a favorite of Pierce & Ward’s founders.
